2nd December 2005 - End of Week 4
One month in already, time flies. The work is starting at the bowl end, then moving back towards the street section. The blockwork outline of the bowl is almost complete, and the transitions are being shaped with gravel, as a base for the concrete and rebar to go on. Anyhow, on with the pics:
-
Looking right along the park from the plaza end. The entrance will be on the right hand side, near the pile of gravel.
-
Looking towards where the big roll in / pyramid will be, from near the entrance. The brick wall at the far end is the edge of the bowl. On the left hand side, the big flatbank will slope down towards us, on the right hand side it will be one big quaterpipe with an elevator, that makes up one half of the mini ramp. The final height will be around 8 inches higher than it is here.
-
Here, we're looking along that wall, from inside the mini ramp. You can see the edge of the bowl wall inside.
-
...and here, from the flatbank back to the mini ramp.
-
This is the shallow end of the bowl. We're standing where the hip will be.
-
And here's the deep end. The hip is on the left. The final height will be about the same as having another row of blocks on top.
-
This is the view from the deep end, looking out. Sweet!
