27th February 2006 - Week 16/17

Laura was on site last week (week 16), and took these pics. Most of the transition section is now waiting for the concrete sprayers to do the curved parts, and the flat bits are mostly done. So, work is now starting on the street or plaza part of the park. The first part of that was started this week.

• The funbox again, a better view of it this time showing how it fits into the bank.

  

• One side of the 5 foot mini ramp, the coping is being fitted and you can see where the elevator will be.

  

• Moving back, looking towards the bowl end from the plaza end. We're stood by the edge of where the plaza will be. These pics show the two pyramids, the bigger one on the left, and the smaller half pyramid on the right. On the right hand side of the small pyramid is a step up which goes up to the miniramp platform.

  

• And here is the first bit of the plaza section being blocked out. It's the curved sloping block (aka, "Laura's Blob"); you can just make out the way the sides curve inwards in this pic.

  

• Brian the Site Manager shows how high the floor of the plaza section will be.
